I became adamant that I will look good if given a chance to grow long hair but they were vehemently denying such statements that came from my folds. All of them unanimously wanted me to live my life with short hair but I exclaimed that life was only once and it was my right to live it the way I deemed it right. My parents stopped talking to me for a while because they thought rowdy boys kept long hair and it was not in keeping with their teachings and upbringing that I should be having such attire. People around me would think strange that I had turned into a rebel and adopted ways which were unbecoming of my family (Sharpe, 2003). For sometime, I had faced this criticism but then I was against what was being said and did what I wanted to do from the beginning – I grew long hair and kept them for a period of about six years. It made me feel complete because I had followed myself then and defied everyone else. Eventually, with the passage of time, I noticed that these same people found that I looked good in long hair which was a testament of my earlier decision. As far as my own self is concerned, by taking this decision I found out that I can achieve something if I remained resilient in life. It is however always advisable that I see the pros and cons of a matter before becoming either with it or against it.
